With the significant changes in U.S. trade policy in 2018, risks to continued growth in Southern California port volumes have increased greatly.  Paul Bingham will return to the Propeller Club of Los Angeles and Long Beach to provide an updated analysis and outlook for international trade and the U.S. and world economies.  He will cover how Southern California ports will likely be affected by shifts in trade resulting from new U.S. tariffs and trade agreements.  He’ll also examine impacts from related responses by U.S. trade partner countries.  He’ll summarize how businesses and consumers are reacting to the changes in traded goods prices and new policies and wrap up with a discussion with the audience of what this means for the San Pedro Bay port community.
