Assemblymember O’Donnell is also a former Long Beach City Councilmember and a teacher with over 20 years of experience.

As the Chair of the Assembly Education Committee, he is a leading voice in the Legislature for access to high-quality public education. In 2018, he was instrumental in securing $150 million for the Career Technical Education Incentive Grant Program. He is also the author of bills signed by the Governor that support working families through state apprenticeship programs and ensure that our schools are constructed with highly skilled workers.
