Gene Seroka was appointed Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles in 2014. He is responsible for managing a budget that exceeds $1.6 billion, advancing major capital projects, growing trade volumes, and promoting innovative sustainable practices to strengthen the region’s economy. At the outset of the COVID-19 global health crisis he led the Port’s response to the pandemic keeping cargo flowing as an essential service to the nation. In March 2020 he was appointed Chief Logistics Officer for the City of Los Angeles. Gene holds an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of New Orleans and currently serves as Chair of the California Association of Port Authorities.
